Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

The recent unrest between the Patriarchates of Constantinople and Moscow weighs heavy on the hearts and souls of all Orthodox Christians.  Our first and immediate reaction must be to pray; for Christian love and unity to prevail.  I am not a Theologian, I am not educated in Canon Law, nor do I have any direct knowledge of the proceedings which have brought about this recent unrest.  What I do possess is a burning desire for Christ's love to be expressed, welcomed, and received in the hearts and minds of all believers.  Saint Paul reminds the faithful in Galatia that, "you are all one in Christ"3:28   And to the Corinthians, he writes, “If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.  If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth .  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” 13:1-8

With love in Christ,
Fr. Andrew

If you are interested in prayer, join us for Vespers on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm. Vespers or the All Night Vigil is the traditional service on the eve of the celebration of the Liturgy. We celebrate in a very simple and quiet manner, usually just a priest, deacon and a reader; those who desire to sing, sing the evening's hymns and responses, other pray silently. Service books and music are available in the vestibule in an easy to follow format. We pray that you will have the opportunity to join us some Saturday evening.   With love in Christ,   Fr. Andrew
Confessions are heard every Saturday evening following Vespers and Sunday Morning at 9:00am. Please be sure to arrive on time to participate in the prayers offered before confession.

( Frequent Communion assumes frequent Confession )
